These 3 races could stop major fossil fuel projects
Stop Fossil Fuel Projects
Take Action
Dear Donna,
Can you spare an hour in the next week to stop dirty fossil fuel projects?
Election Day is next week and there are 3 local elections that are critical to stopping major fossil fuel projects and fighting for clean energy and good jobs. Our partners at Lead Locally are organizing one final push to talk with voters and elect leaders who will stand with people, not the fossil fuel billionaires.
Sign up NOW to join a volunteer shift to text and call voters in these districts between now and Election Day on November 7 — and invite your friends.
Each of these candidates signed our No Fossil Fuel money pledge, committing to reject contributions from the oil, gas, and coal industry. Here are more details about the candidates you'll be fighting for:
In the Port of Vancouver, WA, two candidates are facing off over the largest proposed oil-by-rail and export facility in the country. Don Orange, a local small business leader and outspoken advocate against the terminal is running against Ken Greene who has received $370,000 from the oil industry, a record for Washington state. Don Orange has pledged not to take contributions from the oil industry and is supported by the Washington Conservation Voters.
In Uwchlan, PA, Bill Miller and Mayme Baumann are running for Town Board of Supervisors to stop the Mariner East 2 pipeline. The pipeline would carry toxic gas right through the heart of Uwchlan and within the blast zone of 5 middle schools.
If you’ve been thinking you want to get involved, but have been pushing it off, NOW is the time. Local elections are often decided by just 500 to 1000 votes, and if we put in the effort, we can combat fossil fuel industry money with our hard work.
We need your help in the final push to get out the vote in critical local elections. Sign up to volunteer.
We the people can defeat fossil fuel lobbyists and the politicians they employ. Thank you for your support.
Truthfully yours,
Brant, Amanda, Collin, and the rest of the ClimateTruth.org Action team
